1. The short version
The site works without an account. If you subscribe to the free daily dispatch, we store your email address. We run no advertising trackers and sell nothing about you. That is the whole spirit of it — details below.
2. What we collect
- Newsletter subscription: your email address and the page you subscribed from. Nothing else is required or asked.
- Abuse protection: when a signup is submitted, a one-way hash of the requester's IP address is stored solely to rate-limit spam. The raw IP is not stored and the hash cannot be reversed.
- Aggregate traffic: we use Google Analytics 4 to measure overall page views and referrers. This is measurement, not advertising — we do not run ad-network pixels or sell data.
- Local preference: your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device.
3. The newsletter
The daily dispatch runs on our own self-hosted newsletter system (Listmonk on our infrastructure, sent via a transactional relay). Subscriber data is not shared with, sold to, or accessible by third parties beyond that relay's delivery function. Unsubscribe is a single reply to any mailing, and your address is deleted on request.
4. Cookies and local storage
QuantOrb sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. Your theme preference lives in localStorage; Google Analytics 4 sets its own measurement cookies per Google's policy, and you can block them with any browser setting or extension without breaking the site.
5. What we do not do
No accounts are required. No behavioral advertising. No data sale. No sharing of subscriber information with data brokers. No dark patterns — the unsubscribe is a single reply.
